Clear simple steps to build strong concepts

I never hear "I don't get it!" The lessons are introduced with such simplicity, using visual, tactile, and kinesthetic manipulatives, that they concept is impossible to miss. Subsequent lessons gradually add layers of depth. Halfway through first grade, my son intuitively knows multi-digit addition problems. Plus, this curriculum is varied. We learn about calendars, money, shapes, time, and fractions. We even hosted a "fractal party" with other homeschool kids of varying ages-- everyone worked together to create a large, visual representation of 10 X 10 X 10 = 1000-- the Cotter Tens Fractal. I actually look forward to opening the teachers guide every night to see what we will be learning about tomorrow. This is a fun, engaging curriculum, and also a very effective teaching tool for ALL learning styles. Highly recommended.

My coop asked this year on a questionnaire, "What is your best homeschool purchase?" I responded, "RightStart Mathematics!" While my homeschool friends are getting frustrated with their 5th and 6th grader not understanding math and hitting a "wall", it is the Level B curriculum that laid an excellent foundation for my 5th grader. My strategy of having him start Level B, even though he was a 3rd grader has paid off! He is in 5th grade, doing Level D, but able to test above his grade level in the standardized tests for math!

I have 3 children and this program is so great to really help them understand their math facts. While other homeschooling moms are frustrated because their children just aren't getting their facts, I tell them, "just play some RS games." My children understand their facts. They can do so much in their heads without counting or manipulatives. I'm a big RS fan!!

Both of my daughters have done so well with this as their starter math curriculum! I am so amazed at how quickly they are able to handle large numbers and complex addition. In addition, when subtraction is introduced, both of my daughters have mastered it without any deep explanation or thought. They just simply understand! LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!!!
