Right Start Math Level C

We just finished Level C and my son loved it! We both enjoyed the games and he was so relieved that there were not a million practice problems with each lesson. Even with fewer practice problems, his skill in adding in his head blows my mind! Most of the time he figures out the answer before I do! Thank you so much, Joan, for a user-friendly math curriculum!

When I started homeschooling, I used a "traditional" math curriculum that as a previous teacher, I was use to. After realizing that my son was needing a program that offered more manipulatives, I choose a hands-on curriculum that has high reviews. However, it didn't work for my son. He could complete the worksheets, but did not have the number sense needed to understand mathematics. I realized that part of the problem was he could not visualize the eight bar, for example. In the Fall of his 3rd grade year, I switched to RighStart Level B. It was an answer to my prayers! After completing Levels B and C, he tested about his grade level last Spring in standardized testing for math. I was worried since we were "behind" when it comes to "grade levels", but with his number sense, he was able to figure out problems in his head that would require most students to use pencil and paper to complete. Thank you RightStart!
