So glad to have a tool to teach my kids the way I figured out myself how to group things. This and Rightstart are awesome! Very visual and kinesthenic.

Nice device, but not like a normal abacus. Horizontal instead of vertical, no reckoning bar and more beads to deal with. Don't confuse this with working a "normal" isn't the same at all. ------------ Company Note: An abacus is beads on a frame. The type of abacuses vary - Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Slovinic, etc. The AL Abacus is designed to help children learn

This is a great product for younger children who might not have the manual dexterity to use a smaller abacus. Also, the use of 2 colors for the beads makes understanding the concept of grouping by 5 much easier. It's also just a fun manipulative for the kids to use. Both my children get excited at the prospect of using the abacus, and WANT to do math because of it!
Great abacus!

This is a sturdy, lightweight abacus and just the right size for my child. She is eight and will be able to use this for a long, long time! Good product!
