We loved this abacus and card games! I got AL Abacus Activities book to go along with the abacus and it made wonders in child's math understanding. Very helpful!

    Making Math Fun!

Posted by Jessica on 10th Jan 2023

My kids and I love playing the games that are included with this curriculum. This set would be fantastic for tutoring. The abacus is great as well, so glad it's included. Definitely read about how to use it. I have been amazed at what this little tool can do!

    Not impressed

Posted by Ashley Peavey on 27th Aug 2020

I’m so surprised at how much this cost and how little came with it. Simply a book with different flash cards suggesting games that are so confusing! They offer free returns, but the hastle and paying for shipping wasn’t worth it so I just took my loss . Other books like family math are much more affordable and include fun games that are actually engaging!

The Games are Great but the Instructions...

Posted by Cristina on 11th Jun 2020

These games are great! Comprehensive, great for practicing, reinforcing concepts, building fun into math, etc. We’ve been using Right Start for nearly 6 years now and although I love the games the instructions are hard to follow. I’ve rewritten many of the instructions in the margins of our book so it is easier to figure out the next time. I think Right Start is great but I do wish the authors would consider a rewrite of the instructions for all of us parents who are trying to fit those games in during a busy school day. I need something clear and concise - not something that reads like a sewing pattern. So I recommend the games but be prepared for some frustration when you try to figure out how to play each game the first time.

    Easy to Use and Understand

I am very happy with this product. The materials shipped quickly. The directions for the activities are easy to follow. My students love the activities and do not complain about having to work on math. The activities can easily be adjusted for advanced and struggling learners.

    Love our card games

Posted by Unknown on 18th Jan 2018

I have been a middle school math teacher and now I am a homeschool mother to a 3rd and 1st grade (and a little 2 year old tagalog). We all love playing games. Playing games that reinforce useful educational skills is a bonus. My 3rd grader LOVES math. He is always doing math in his head. The math card games we have been playing with RightStart Math since kindergarten are just a natural way to extend his learning and fun. My 1st grader is a different story. She is a phenomenal reader but math is her weakness. She often gets overwhelmed by simple math problems when she is "doing math" but she is actually good at math when she isn't "doing the math." For her card games is the BEST way to reinforce her math skills. If you have a student who loves math, or who struggles the Rightstart Math card games is one of the best ways I have seen in all of my teaching years. I highly recommend the Math Card Games.

    Great Supplement to Any Math

Posted by Unknown on 16th Dec 2015

We don't use rightstart as our base math curriculum, but I am loving this kit. I initially bought it to help tutor a child and have been practicing the games in advance with my own children. They love it and I love that there are so many games at so many different levels that this will last a very long time. I highly recommend this kit!
