    Math

Posted by Leslie on 1st Oct 2020

VERY hands on and very little worksheets. My 5 year old is loving it and has not fought me doing math not even once! Each lesson includes a variety of activities to keep his little attention span. Before buying I was worried about being overwhelmed with the teaching time required and the amount of manipulatives but the lessons are written out clearly and is so easy to teach! We love right start so far and are excited to continue through the program! :)

    Math Level A

Posted by Renee on 25th Sep 2020

So glad we found RightStart Math. My son went from not ever wanting to do math to asking to do math first! He loves the games and songs. I love that he is building a solid number sense and love for abstract thinking. Thank you RightStart!

    One of a kind

Posted by Olivia N. on 22nd Sep 2020

My 5 year old and I have both been enjoying level A. The lessons are simple and quick and touch on many developmental requirements for a good math foundation. I also love the explanations that are given to the parent explaining why specific concepts or approaches are taught. This curriculum looks at a child as a developing intellect and teaches critical thinking and problem solving in a way I hadn’t seen in both my own experience as a homeschooled child and in the previous years with my older son. This curriculum makes me feel like I’m doing something right!

So far it’s lots of fun!

Posted by Lauren Elisabeth on 18th Sep 2020

We love the song that starts each day’s lesson, we walk around singing it all day because it’s so catchy. Even our two year old knows it. We have just completed our first week of lessons. We have all enjoyed it so much! It doesn’t feel like learning/school. We have laughed a lot, and the lessons seem to breeze right by. My daughter had counting drilled into her by other family members, so I am happy that she will have an alternative way to view numbers as well. I am excited to see how the whole program unfolds. If you have a creative/musical child, I would definitely recommend Right Start Math.

Hands on, no writing rapid quantity recognition

Posted by Agnes on 18th Aug 2020

I wish I found this product sooner. My son didn't like writing and he didn't struggle with math. Just with writing the math. This program saves me unnecessary struggles while delivering mathematical knowledge to my child. I find the concept of subitizing (rapids quantity recognition) very efficient. The book creates it by games and manipulatives and repetition. The quantities are represented in different ways: tallies, fingers, hand claps, tiles, abacus and standard numbers. I also find manipulatives and games more engaging than traditional curriculums.

    We love it!

We tried two other workbook-based mathematics programs, which both ended in my son saying "I hate math." We switched to RightStart in the hope that a different approach would help. He now asks to do math! The hands-on, active learning approach has been a game-changer.

RIGHTSTART™ MATHEMATICS LEVEL A SECOND EDITION BOOK BUNDLE

Posted by Ellie Mahaney on 17th Jun 2020

During the pandemic shut downs I have started home schooling my disabled non-verbal son who can not use his hands but can use an eye gaze computer to communicate. With some creative adaptations my son is finally understanding number sense and quantities. . De-emphasizing counting has been the key to success for us since he will never be able to use one to one correspondence in counting. The Right Start way of visualizing quantity and using music and multiple manipulative's has been incredible. He loves to do "math" time and I can see the steady progress even though he has dyscalculia. The curriculum is laid out perfectly with short, well thought out lessons that teach a concept from so many different angles. I wasn't sure I would be able to teach my son math, especially given our unique challenges, but here we are learning and having fun. We love it!
