    Fun=He cares!

My son is already pretty good with math, but using the different levels across several grades simultaneously has helped him to make even more connections. Most games, if explained, can be played at any level, and work well as review, for fun, and as early introduction. Younger kids especially relish getting to play the big kids’ games. Highly recommended!

    Very well thought-out!

We love that the lessons are so well thought-out. They make sense and all the little details seem to be very purposeful for the building blocks of learning. The lesson length seems good.

Right Start has made a believer out of our family

Posted by Unknown on 18th Aug 2019

My daughter REALLY struggled with math before Right Start. After using level B, she finally got it! At the end of the school year I was so overjoyed when the testing administrator told me my daughter had scored the highest in the area of math. What a difference this program has made!! I plan to start my son with Right Start this year as well.

    Amazing!

Posted by Unknown on 16th Aug 2019

We started our son's kindergarten math with another curriculum, and even though he was understanding it, it was like pulling teeth to get the work done because he found it so boring and repetitive. Partway through the year I just decided to ditch that curriculum and discovered Right Start Math. We started him on Level B even though we had only gone partway through our previous kindergarten math, but just by doing the review lessons at the beginning he was able to quickly understand the new approach. Now he LOVES doing math and there are no more tears - from him or me! I cannot even believe how much better he is doing with this curriculum. My 3 year old daughter has also picked up so much just from sitting with us, and the AL abacus is a huge hit with both of them. I think we will end up sticking with Right Start through all the levels!

My son is dyslexic and has struggled in school. This is our first year to homeschool. He loves this math program. We spend an hour a day doing right start and he always wants to keep going.

Tried everything else, should have started with this

Posted by Amy on 23rd Oct 2018

We have LITERALLY tried everything else. And I was FIGHTING myself to buy this -- didn't want "teacher intensive". But, guess what!?! Now my boy doesn't HATE math, he LOVES games time and has not complained once since we started -- I am in AWE and SOOOO grateful to you for this amazing program. I love the way the teacher guide is organized (one two-page spread per day) and I love all of the materials that I have organized in two three-drawer plastic bins. Should have started with this, would have saved lots of heart-ache. Teacher intensive now, to me, means, time to love math together <3

    Excellent Foundation

I purchased this curriculum after talking with a representative at a Special Needs Homeschooling conference. I'm so excited that I found this! We're about 10 lessons into the book and it's going very well. We like all of the manipulatives and are really enjoying the card games. I was a bit hesitant about so many games, but they usually end up being the highlight of our school day. My daughter (10) is frustrated that there aren't more worksheets, but she's coming from a self-contained sp.ed. class in public school where she was given tons of worksheets she was taught to do by rote without understanding. She's frustrated that we're going "backwards" in some concepts, but I'm certain that she's actually learning and building a strong foundation for math skills. Her knowledge is somewhat scattered, but the curriculum makes it easy to speed through several lessons if it is stuff she already knows, but then presents something that gets her stuck for a little while and we may spend a few days on a lesson before moving on. Because of my daughter's preference for worksheets, I wish there was an optional worksheet to go with each lesson. I'm schooling 5 kids at different levels and the independent work would be nice. As it is, it isn't too difficult to find corresponding worksheets online to print, just takes time and forethought.

    Top- notch curriculum

Posted by Katherine on 17th Aug 2018

I wish I had found this curriculum earlier! As a parent without much confidence in my ability to teach math, these materials are easy to use and I know that my daughters are receiving solid conceptual instruction in math.

Great for kids with dyscalculia/learning disabilities!!

Posted by Make math fun!! on 6th Aug 2018

Only a few months ago, I started with A even though my daughter is a rising second grader and 8yo. She couldn't add or subtract numbers to ten. She was so discouraged about math and I was turning cartwheels trying to teach it. We were able to do two lessons/day for a while and skipped the geometry lessons. We are now 30 lessons into B and am feeling so much better about her starting second grade in several weeks!! I can see her confidence growing by just working with her 15-20 minutes each day, 5 days a week.
